Banksy The Man Behind The Wall And The Documentary

All art has beauty, but that beauty may not be seen by everyone. As revealed in the article â€Å"Banksy: The Man Behind the Wall† and the documentary â€Å"Banksy Does New York,† Banksy is one of few people who understands that. Banksy is an anonymous street artist who had his start in England. He took up a 31-day residency in New York plastering the state with his personal spin on graffiti. Also explained in the documentary, Banksy is an anonymous street artist who originated in England. Banksy’s art directly links to Birk and Birk’s language process and Rosenblatt’s idea of censorship, causing uproars as well as conveying the message that art is relative. Art is relative meaning each person may have a different interpretation of what they are seeing whether it be with or without words. In the documentary â€Å"Banksy Does New York,† Banksy paints a portrait of a beaver in the middle of the Bronx. This ties right into Birk and Birk’s principle of selection. There were two predominant perceptions of this piece of art. Those who came to view the Banksy viewed it as art whereas the natives viewed it as a way to make money. The Banksy fans went out of their way to a neighborhood they would normally never visit just to see this portrait. In contrast, the natives immediately used to piece as a way to make money by charging the visitors to view it. Banksy often hides messages in even his most simple pieces.
